TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Attorney General’s Office is still investigating an alleged corruption case surrounding the procurement of broadcast-ready programs worth Rp47.8 billion at state-owned television station TVRI. The investigation kicked off in January 2013.

“More than four TVRI officials and staffers have been questioned, but we have yet to name a suspect,” Attorney General’s Office spokesman Setia Untung Arimuladi said on Wednesday, October 2, 2013.

According to a Tempo source, the officials quizzed were TVRI program and news director Irwan Hendarmin, finance director Eddy Machmudi Effendi, and deed-makers Triyono and Yulkasimir.

Indicators of irregularities in the procurement of broadcast-ready programs for 2012 were first spotted by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). The irregularities were found in the regulations of technical specification of the programs and the direct appointment scheme used to procure the programs.

TVRI deed-maker Yulkasmir denied the graft allegations, saying the procurement of the programs was already conforming to procedures, with some adjustments.

TVRI managing director Farhat Syukri, who also dismissed the claims, refused to comment on the BPK’s findings. “No comments, please,” he said at the House building.
