TEMPO.CO, Rio de Janeiro – After being beaten by Nigeria, Oceania Champion Tahiti was defeated 10 goals to nil against Spain in a 2013 Confederation Cup match. In a pre-match conference, Michael Roche, Tahiti's goalkeeper, said "our goal is to play the match with honor," an opinion implying that they admitted that they were already outclassed by Spanish stars.

The match was pretty much dominated by Spain with 27 goal attempts, with both of the team's striker Fernando Torres and David Villa each scored four goals. The result brought Spain to the semifinals to face either Brazil or Italy, while Tahiti will have to return to the Pacific soon after they make their stand against another football giant, Uruguay.

On another match, Uruguayan Diego Forlan celebrated his 100th cap with a goal at the start of the second half, securing a 2-1 victory over Nigeria. Both Nigeria and Uruguay now have the same chance to qualify for the semifinals along with Spain.
