Jakarta Ready to Storm the Runway in 2014

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Fashion Week 2014 is scheduled to be held at Senayan City, Jakarta, on October 19 to 25 2013. The event is a collaboration between the Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industry, the British Council, and fashion consultants at the Center for Fashion Enterprise based in London, England. The committee has selected 12 fashion labels to present their stylish creations during the event.


These 12 brands will be divided into four categories. The first category is ready to wear fashion which includes Vinora NG, Toton, Tex Saverio, and Friederich Herman.


There is also a special ready to wear category which includes the brands Nefertiti, rebranded as N.F.R.T. for the international market, Monday to Sunday, Milka, and 8eri.


This year, two Muslim fashion brands were also chosen to participate including Nur Zahra and Jenahara, which will be rebranded into J Nasution for the international market.


The owners of these selected labels will participate in a workshop named Indonesian Fashion Forward. They will be guided by fashion experts from the Center for Fashion Enterprise such as Wendy Malem, Demelza Galica, Anglela Quaintrell, Toby Meadows and Sanjeev Davidson.
