TEMPO.CO , Banda Aceh – Abraham Samad, the Head of Corruption Eradication Commission, said that he was stealing chalks once during his school time. He told his experience in a public lecture on Tuesday, April 23, at Muhammadiyah University, Banda Aceh.
Abraham said that he was stealing five chalks and his teacher let him get away with it. He intended to use the chalk to study at home, but his mother find out about his mischief and told him that "It is called stealing. You cannot take it. The chalk was bought with the state's money."
The next day, his mother wrapped the chalks and asked Samad to return it to school. He remembered the lesson and said, "That is how anti-corruption education was built, since early childhood." Samad believed that educating children to fight corruption begins in the family.
