2013 APEC Delegates Go on Lapindo Mud Tour

TEMPO.CO, Surabaya - Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference delegates from 21 countries will have 10 tour packages during their time in Indonesia. One of the places to visit is the Porong mudflow site in Sidoarjo.
Ifron Hadi S, head of cooperation for the Surabaya city administration, said the city has prepared almost its entire tourist sites to receive some 2,000 APEC delegates. "Religious tours, environment, shopping, history, art, culture and cuisine will be prepared during APEC," Ifron said on Thursday, April 4.
The delegates will be escorted to Kenjeran Mosque, Sinan Ampel Mosque, and a number of Chinese temples. They will also be taken to the home of national hero HOS Cokroaminoto, the Heroes Monument and the house of Wage Rudolf Supratman.
Head of Surabaya's department of transportation, Eddi, said the city would rearrange its traffic lanes to support the APEC agenda from April 6 to 22.
Head of operations of Surabaya's Traffic Unit Adj. Comm. Harna, said he would deploy officers to all attraction sites to be visited. The police, he said, are ready to escort the delegation and secure the event.
