TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Arsjad Rasjid welcomed Indonesia’s cabinet reshuffle on Monday, August 19, 2024.
Arsjad said the Onward Indonesia cabinet reshuffle will positively impact the business climate. "We congratulate (the new cabinet members) on their inauguration,” said Arsjad Rasjid in his official statement on the day of the reshuffle.
At least three ministers, one deputy minister, and three heads of agencies were inaugurated by President Joko Widodo or Jokowi this morning at State Palace, Central Jakarta.
The three ministers are Supratman Andi Atgas as Minister of Law and Human Rights, Bahlil Lahadalia as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, and Rosan Perkasa Roeslani as Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board.
Angga Raka Prabowo was inaugurated as Deputy Minister of Communication and Informatics. Meanwhile, Dadan Hisdayana was inaugurated as Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Taruna Ikrar as Head of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency or BPOM, and Hasan Nasbi was appointed the Head of the Presidential Communications Agency.
Kadin considered the cabinet reshuffle necessary to prepare and support the government transition and ensure it runs smoothly and effectively, said Arsjad. A smooth-running government transition will ensure a conducive business climate that Arsjad said would “provide certainty for business actors and investors to run the national economy."
Thus, Arsjad went on, Kadin is ready to collaborate and support the ministers and heads of agencies in carrying out their duties, especially in encouraging economic growth.
Arsjad alluded to Indonesia's 5.05 percent economic growth in the second quarter of 2024 and Prabowo-Gibran’s goal of 8 percent nationwide economic growth.
"Through a strong partnership between business entities and the government, Indonesia will become increasingly resilient in facing global challenges and work together for Onward Indonesia, especially achieving the 8 percent economic growth and 2045 Golden Indonesia,” he said.
