Philadelphia Stabbing: Govt Confirms Citizen Killed by Fellow Indonesian

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that an Indonesian citizen with the initials RA was fatally stabbed in Philadelphia on August 4, 2024.
The perpetrator of the murder was a fellow Indonesian citizen with the initials LFP. The victim was stabbed with a kitchen knife in the neck and leg.
The Indonesian Consulate General in New York has worked together with the Philadelphia Police for the autopsy procedure for the victim and the legal process against the perpetrator. The Consulate General has also communicated with the victim's family.
"The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indonesian Consulate General in New York will continue to monitor the development of this case and provide consular assistance," said the Directorate for Citizen Protection on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
Self-report data from the Indonesian Consulate General in New York shows that around 5,000 Indonesian nationals are living in Philadelphia. The majority of them reside in South Philadelphia.

Another Indonesian citizen murdered overseas this year was Mayawati Bracken back in January in Pangbourne, the UK.
As reported by dailymail, the Major Crime Unit of the Thames Valley Police was called on the afternoon of January 4 for a road collision involving a Lexus vehicle when they found Maya inside the car with a stab wound.
The victim received medical attention but died at the scene.
