TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Dozens of universities in Indonesia have successfully entered the ranking of the best universities in the world according to the Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings (QS WUR) 2024 which was released on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

The 20th edition of the QS rankings features 1,500 institutions in 104 regions and is the only university ranking to emphasize employability and sustainability indicators.

In 2024, QS implemented their biggest methodological improvement by introducing three new metrics: sustainability, employment outcomes, and international research network.

The results are drawn from an analysis of 17.5 million academic papers and expert opinions from more than 240,000 academic schools and employers.

A total of 26 public and private higher education institutions in Indonesia have successfully entered the QS ranking of the world's best universities for 2024.

2. Gadjah Mada University - World ranking: 263

3. Bandung Institute of Technology - World ranking: 281

4. Airlangga University - World ranking: 345

5. IPB University - World ranking: 489

6. Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology - World ranking: 621 – 630

7. Padjadjaran University - World ranking: 661 – 670

8. Diponegoro University - World ranking: 791 – 800

9. Brawijaya University - World ranking: 801 – 850

10. Binus University - World ranking: 1001 – 1200
