TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecast that the entirety of Jakarta will be cloudy today, Thursday, June 27, 2024.

In the morning, thick clouds will shroud most of Jakarta, as quoted by Antara from BMKG. In the afternoon, Central Jakarta, East Jakarta, North Jakarta, South Jakarta, West Jakarta, and the Seribu Islands.

The weather will persist well into the night, and likely until the early hours of Friday, except for the partly cloudy weather in the Seribu Islands, North Jakarta, and Central Jakarta.

Today's average temperature in Jakarta ranges from 23 to 32 degrees Celsius with air humidity from 70 to 100 percent.

Previously, BMKG coordinated with the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to conduct weather modification in Jakarta.

Chief Executive of BPBD Jakarta, Isnawa Adji, said the team carried out weather modification technology (TMC) in Jakarta as the air quality deteriorated in recent days.

Based on data from the IQAir air quality monitoring site at midnight today, Jakarta’s air quality was unhealthy with 158 points. This places Jakarta second as the city with unhealthy air after Kinshasha in Congo with a score of 204 points.
