TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Director General of Informatics Applications at the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, informed several recovery steps for the temporary disruption of the national data center (PDNS 2) services since June 20, which affected the immigration management information system at the Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
"Recovery steps continue to be carried out with developments, some immigration services such as passports, visas, residence permits, and crossings have started to operate again," he said in a written statement, on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
He also said that immigration services through Autogate at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, which had been disrupted, had resumed operations in stages. Meanwhile, Autogate services at other airports were still being restored, he said.
"For the immigration process to continue, a combined service with manual verification is still in place," he said.
He said he would continue to regularly update the public on developments in the restoration, especially concerning PDNS 2. "In terms of immigration services, the Ministry of Communication and Information is working with the Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Justice and Human Rights," Semuel said.
The Director General of Immigration Silmy Karim previously said that the disruption in the immigration system was caused by a problem with the National Data Center. "The problem is in the National Data Center, which is managed by Kominfo (Ministry of Communications)," he said on Thursday, June 20. "The Immigration is a user and our server is in the National Data Center," he added.
Meanwhile, immigration services at Soekarno-Hatta Airport were carried out manually from Thursday morning until this evening due to a disruption in the national data center. "There is a problem with the central system, immigration services at Soekarno Hatta Airport have been carried out manually since 4:00 this morning," said the head of Soekarno Hatta Immigration Checkpoint, Bismo, when contacted by Tempo on Thursday evening.
Bismo did not specify the impact of the non-operation of the immigration system. However, he assured that immigration services would continue to operate normally. He also did not mention whether there were long queues and an accumulation of passengers due to the system disruption.
