TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Low-cost carrier Indonesia AirAsia is offering free seats and the lowest fares for passengers to travel to their favorite international destinations.

"This promotion is being held simultaneously by all AirAsia Group airlines," said President Director of Indonesia Air Asia Veranita Yosephine Sinaga, Saturday, June 8, 2024.

Veranita said the promo is a strategic move by Indonesia AirAsia to increase foreign tourist visits. "Indonesia AirAsia continues to prove its commitment to providing various attractive promotions for its passengers," she said. "This is done to increase tourists' interest in traveling by air transport," he said.

Not only for Indonesians traveling abroad, but it also encourages foreign travelers to visit and enjoy the beauty of Indonesian tourism.

Statistic Indonesia (BPS) recorded 11.68 million foreign visits in 2023. The number increased by 98.3 percent compared to 2022 which recorded 5.89 million visits. In 2023, Indonesia AirAsia recorded 4.1 million passengers flying on international routes.

Veranita said this was one of Indonesia AirAsia's attempts to support Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to achieve the target of 17 million foreign visitors in 2024. "Therefore, it will hopefully make a positive contribution by increasing the number of visitors, whether in the tourism sector or the Indonesian economy," she said.

Tickets can be purchased from June 8 to 16, 2024 for travel from September 2, 2024 to October 8, 2025. Passengers can get a free seat (base fare of Rp0) to Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Singapore and Perth by purchasing tickets through the AirAsia MOVE app (formerly AirAsia Superapp) or airasia.com.

Meanwhile, flights to other destinations can be taken with Indoesia AirAsia's special low fares, which can also be checked on AirAsia MOVE or airasia.com. "Flights can be taken via Jakarta, Bali, Medan, Yogyakarta and Surabaya," said Veranita.

For an even cheaper price, passengers can redeem their AirAsia points on the AirAsia MOVE app and earn new points with each new purchase.

Indonesia AirAsia is also offering a special 70 percent promo on add-on purchases that can be made at the same time as the flight ticket purchase through the AirAsia MOVE application.

Promos are available for baggage purchases (Check In, Carry On and Fast Pass), inflight meals, seat selection and flight insurance.
