TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Solo Mayor and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka left for Jakarta this afternoon, April 19. However, he was tight-lipped about the agenda. “Let’s see. It’s a secret,” Gibran briefly told reporters at the Solo City Hall in Central Java, on Friday, April 19, 2024.

Previous reports had suggested that President-elect Prabowo Subianto had provided specific criteria for ministerial positions in his future cabinet. When asked to confirm whether there would be a meeting with the Defense Minister on the matter, Gibran remained silent.

Although he confirmed that he would meet with several figures in the momentum of Eid al-Fitr, Gibran stopped short of disclosing the names. He added that he would be in Jakarta until Monday, April 22, 2024.

"I will be on stand by and meet some figures I haven't visited for Eid," Gibran added.

Gibran also said that it was possible that Prabowo could act as a mediator for a meeting between PDIP Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri and President Joko Widodo or Jokowi. “It could happen,” Gibran said.

When questioned further about the possibility of any plans regarding the meeting, Gibran refused to provide any details. He also refused to confirm if his visit to Jakarta was connected to the Constitutional Court’s decision hearing on the election dispute, which was scheduled for Monday, April 22, 2024.

"Well, let's see. Hopefully, we will get good results," Gibran said.
