Indonesia vs Vietnam Match at GBK; Police Dispatch 2,398 Personnel

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police deployed 2,398 personnel to secure the football match between Indonesia and Vietnam at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium in Senayan tonight, March 21.

The security personnel consists of elements from the Indonesian Military (TNI), the National Police (Polri), the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the Transportation Agency, and even the Fire and Rescue Agency.

The match is the second qualifying round in Group F for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Asia. The two teams will later meet again at My Dinh International Stadium in Hanoi on March 26.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro explained that the security measures for the international match was divided into three zones.

Susatyo emphasized that all police officers involved in security efforts must always behave professionally and adopt a humanistic approach in carrying out their duties.

“We appeal to supporters of both the national team and the opposing team to always maintain order,” Susatyo said in a written statement on Thursday, March 21. He also called on all parties to abide by the rules in place to ensure the smooth running of the match.
