1. Soekarno-Hatta Airport Seizes Hundreds of Goods as Import Restrictions Kick in

TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - The Customs and Excise Office at Soekarno-Hatta Airport has confiscated hundreds of consumer goods from 21 passengers within three days following the enforcement of the import restrictions. The Trade Minister’s Regulation No. 3 of 2024 on import policies and regulations has been in force since March 10, 2024.

“The confiscation covers passengers' goods, such as bags, footwear, clothing or textiles, cosmetics, and food supplements,” said Gatot Sugeng Wibowo, the Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s Customs and Excise Office, in a written statement on Tuesday, March 13.

2. Sandiaga Uno Says Added Value of Creative Economy Reaches Rp1.4tn

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno stated that his ministry had managed to achieve several targets set for 2023. One of them was the added value of the creative economy, which exceeded the target of Rp1,300 trillion.

“The added value of our creative economy has exceeded Rp1,414.77 trillion,” he said in a meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission X on March 13, as quoted from his statement.

3. Jakarta Boat Capsizing: Search Continues for Missing Taiwanese amid High Waves

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The search for a missing Taiwanese national, Shih-Yi Chang, continued amid high waves on Wednesday, two days after the passenger boat he was on capsized in the Rambut Island waters off Jakarta's Seribu Islands or Thousand Islands.

The high waves hampered the search and rescue operation that had entered the third day, Head of Jakarta's National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Desiana Kartika Bahari revealed.
