TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy for Human, Community, and Cultural Development of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), Amich Alhumami, stated that the proposed free lunch program will be incorporated into the National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2024-2029, following the official announcement by the General Election Commission (KPU) declaring Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the victor of the 2024 Presidential Election.

“If the presidential and vice presidential candidates (Prabowo-Gibran) clinch the presidency and vice-presidency, they will implement this program during the 2024-2029 government tenure. This program is a reference point for the RPJMN, which Bappenas is tasked with managing,” Amich told Tempo by phone on Monday, March 11.

The RPJMN is a comprehensive five-year plan that outlines the president's vision, mission, and programs, developed in accordance with the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN), which is prepared every 20 years. The RPJMN encompasses national development strategies, general policies, and programs of the sitting president.

Amich claimed that Bappenas had taken into consideration not only Prabowo-Gibran's program but also the programs of other candidates, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, in preparing the RPJMN. However, only the programs of the elected presidential and vice presidential candidates will be officially included in the RPJMN.

“Bappenas always takes into account the vision and mission of all existing presidential and vice presidential candidates. We know the vision and mission of all three candidates. So, we have already established reference points for each candidate's program, which the KPU will officially determine,” Amich concluded.
