TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasted that Jakarta is likely to experience cloudy skies this morning and afternoon, March 12, or the first day of Ramadan.

Subsequently, the evening is expected to be accompanied by rainfall, along with the possibility of thunderstorms in certain areas.

Based on the weather forecast data on the agency’s official page as of 1 am Tuesday, the sky in six regions of Jakarta will be cloudy during the morning hours. In the afternoon, light rain is likely in South Jakarta, while other parts of the city will remain cloudy.

During the evening, thunderstorms are possible in West Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands. Meanwhile, light rain is expected to fall in Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta.

The rainfall is likely to continue until the early hours of Wednesday, March 13, when moderate-intensity rain will drench West Jakarta, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta. At that time, light rain is also anticipated to wet Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands.

The humidity levels are expected to be in the range of 80-95 percent, with the highest level in Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands. The air temperature throughout the capital city will hover between 24 and 31 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the wind is anticipated to predominantly blow from the north to the west at speeds ranging from 10 to 25 kilometers per hour.
