TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - At least 134,000 volunteers will attend the grand campaign of Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud Md at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium in Central Jakarta on Saturday, Feb. 3. The campaign is titled ‘Harapan Jutaan Rakyat or Hajatan Rakyat’ which features a music concert ‘Konser Salam Metal 03 Menang Total’.

“We, TKRPP 2024 for Ganjar-Mahfud, together with 2,444 volunteer groups in three provinces of Jakarta, Banten, and West Java will mobilize about 134,000 volunteers to participate in the event in GBK,” said Erwin Usman, head of the volunteer coordination team (TKRPP), in a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday, Feb. 1.

Erwin also apologized to the public who may be inconvenienced as they pass through GBK Senayan areas on Saturday.

“We hope that the public and road users who may be inconvenienced by this mobilization can understand and help provide access because [the volunteers] will come from 27 cities/districts in West Java and eight cities/districts in Banten,” he explained.

He added that about 19,000 units of motorcycles and 1,950 buses with a capacity of 50 passengers each will arrive in the area. About 500 Bajaj (three-wheeled taxis) will also join the grand campaign and hold a convoy from Cipinang, East Jakarta to GBK. Each Bajaj can accommodate two to three people.

Additionally, popular bands, including Slank and Jamrud, will enliven the grand campaign of Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud Md to entertain supporters. “We hope this will be a fun campaign and those who have not made up their minds will vote for Ganjar and Mahfud on February 14,” Erwin said.
