TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lion Air airlines will provide direct flights from the Juanda International Airport in Sidoarjo, East Java to five domestic destinations, namely Pekanbaru, Padang, Kendari, Ambon, and Ternate. The direct flights would operate starting January 2024.

"The five destinations are estimated to become the favorites of 2024," said the Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Air, Danang Mandala Prihantoro in a written statement on Wednesday, Dec. 27.

The destinations each offer its own attraction for businesspeople and tourists alike. Pekanbaru offers the beauty of nature and unforgettable cultural diversity, while Padang is a culinary heaven. Kendari and Ambon offer underwater charms and oceanic beauty, while Ternate is a historic place with breathtaking nature.

According to Danang, the direct flight will make the trips faster to optimize time and budget-cutting. For businesspeople, the direct flight will facilitate access to strategic cities. "Hopefully to expand and open more business opportunities, conduct business meetings, and form new partnerships.

Meanwhile, direct flights by Lion Air will grant tourists more knowledge about exotic destinations in Indonesia without layovers. "This creates a more comfortable and efficient trip experience," Danang said.
