TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) predicts that the distribution of gas oil and jet fuel will increase during the Christmas and New Year periods. BPH Migas head Erika Retnowati said gasoline distribution is predicted to increase by 14 percent and aviation fuel by 6 percent. However, gas oil distribution is predicted to fall by 3.6 percent, and industrial fuel to drop by 9 percent.
Nevertheless, Erika ensured that the fuel oil supply was safe during this period. "In general, the stock condition of gasoline, gasoil, kerosene, and aviation fuel is above 17 days," she said on Friday, December 15.
Erika said that BPH Migas and Pertamina are preparing 114 fuel oil terminals (TBBM), more than 7,400 public refueling stations (SPBU), and 71 aircraft refueling depots (DPPU). "We also provide additional facilities in areas with high demand," she said.
In addition, Erika said the agency is preparing 23 LPG terminals, 667 LPG Bulk Refueling Stations (SPBE), and 4,972 LPG agents. She also said that the prognosis for LPG stock resilience is "safe" with an average coverage of 18 days.
"LPG stocks are kept to remain stable during the Christmas and New Year holidays. We are also preparing LPG 24 agents and bases, specifically for areas with high demand," said Erika.
To ensure the availability of energy supply and distribution, the government has set up a National Command Post for the Energy and Mineral Resources Sector. Erika said the post will operate from December 15, 2023, to January 7, 2024.
