TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released its weather forecast for Greater Jakarta or Jabodetabek areas today, Dec. 5, 2023.

According to the agency, rain of moderate intensity will soak South Jakarta this afternoon. Light rain is also expected in West Jakarta throughout the day, while the rest of the city will remain overcast.

There is a probability of light rain in West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta in the evening.

“Be cautious of possible rain with thunder and strong winds in parts of South and West Jakarta in the afternoon and evening,” the agency warned on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

As for Jakarta’s neighbors, Bogor and Depok will have light rain in the afternoon and evening, while Bekasi will experience cloudy weather in the afternoon and light rain in the evening.

The agency also warned of the possibility of moderate to heavy intensity rain with thunder and high gusts in parts of Bogor, Bekasi, and Depok, from midday to evening.

The rain forecast is equally valid for Tangerang, where light rain may fall throughout the day, soaking the city. “Be alert for the possibility of moderate to heavy rain with thunder and strong winds in most areas of central and southern Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, and South Tangerang City,” the BMKG said.
