TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Deputy for Statistics Distribution and Services Pudji Ismartini reported that the value of Indonesia's export to Israel was higher compared to that of Palestine between January to October 2023.

The export value to Israel during this period reached US$140.57 million, whereas it was US$2.37 million to Palestine.

“The export share to Israel in January-October 2023 is 0.07 percent of Indonesia's total exports, while the share to Palestine is 0.0011 percent, so it is very small,” Ismartini said at a press conference on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.

The export commodity to Israel this year includes animal or vegetable fats and oils amounting to US$39.18 million, footwear worth US$12.91 million, and machinery or electrical equipment and parts worth US$10.85 million.

On the other hand, Indonesia's exports to Palestine recorded an increase compared to the previous year, which amounted to US$820,000. The most exported commodities this year were various processed foods worth US$1.85 million, processed vegetables, fruit, and nuts with a value of US$230,000, as well as processed flour worth US$130,000.

“It can therefore be concluded that the political conditions in these two countries do not significantly affect Indonesia's international trade performance,” Ismartini concluded.
