1. Indonesia's Stance on Palestine Will Never Change, Says Minister Muhadjir Effendy

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy has emphasized that Indonesia's support for the independence of Palestine will never change.

"Indonesia's stance will never change about the Palestinian issue, and the ultimate goal of our relations with the Palestinian nation and people is the creation of a sovereign state for Palestine," he said in a statement issued by his ministry on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

He affirmed that the Indonesian government will continue to carry out lobbying and diplomacy with Islamic countries that have diplomatic relations with Israel to support efforts for a ceasefire.

2. Twenty-two Palestinian Students Receiving Indonesian Scholarship Welcomed by Defense Minister Prabowo

Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto welcomed 22 Palestinian students who received full scholarships from the Indonesian government to continue undergraduate studies at the Defense University.

Minister Prabowo Subianto highlighted that the scholarship aims to prepare Palestinian human resources to contribute to the development of their nation.

3. BPBD Jakarta Forms Flood Mitigation Teams

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has formed rapid response teams (TRC) that are on standby in each sub-district to deal with floods.

“There are 267 people on standby to handle flood disasters. They are on duty 24 hours a day,” the acting head of BPBD Jakarta Isnawa Adji said on Tuesday, Nov. 7, as quoted from Antara.

The rapid response team is tasked with handling disasters, such as floods, providing information, and evacuating residents in the city, as well as handling and monitoring post-disaster situations.
