TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The state-owned electricity company PLN's Distribution Unit (UID) for Jakarta Raya forecasted that the electricity demand of DKI Jakarta residents on the first day of Eid Al-Adha will reach 4,515 megawatts (MW).

This figure represents a 13.19 percent increase compared to last year. Regardless, with a supply capacity of 8,687 MW, PLN assured that Jakarta's electricity needs will be met.

In anticipation of Eid Al-Adha, PLN has deployed 2,148 personnel across 17 Emergency Response Posts in PLN UID Jakarta Raya. PLN has also prepared 7 units of Mobile Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), 7 units of Mobile Cable (UKB), 9 units of Mobile Substation (UGB), 2 units of Mobile Diesel (UDB), 4 units of Cranes, 4 units of SKTM Detection, 4 units of SKTM Assessment Unit, as well as 64 cars and 77 motorcycles for Technical Services.

PLN is monitoring 496 mosques in Jakarta, with Istiqlal Mosque being the main focus of observation for the Eid Al-Adha prayer.

Additionally, PLN is also monitoring various public service centers. This includes 9 transportation zones, 32 defense zones, 59 government zones, 58 hospitals, 5 tourist sites, 94 shopping centers, and 77 points of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) to ensure a reliable power supply.

Doddy B. Pangaribuan, the General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya, provides some tips for customers during the long Eid Al-Adha holiday.

Doddy advised customers who will be spending their holidays at home to ensure their electricity bills are paid and that they have sufficient kWh credits to make their family gatherings more comfortable. For customers planning to go on vacation, it is recommended to unplug all electronic devices.

"If customers have any electricity-related issues, they can contact PLN through the PLN Mobile application. PLN Mobile is here to provide solutions for various electricity-related problems faced by customers," said Doddy in his statement on Thursday, June 29, 2023.
