TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Transportation Ministry issued a Circular letter regulating the health protocols for travelers during the transition period of the COVID-19 endemic.

“This Transportation Ministry’s Circular refers to the Circular of the COVID-19 Task Force No. 1 of 2023 on the health protocols during the endemic transition period published on June 9, 2023,” said the ministry’s spokesperson Adita Irawati on Sunday, June 10, 2023.

In the Circular released by the COVID-19 Task Force, booster vaccination and face mask are no longer mandatory for travel. The Transportation Ministry thus issued circulars that take effect on Saturday, June 9, 2023.

The circulars note that the ministry still recommends people get the complete course of the COVID-19 vaccine and first and second boosters. This is especially intended for people with a high risk of contracting the virus.

However, people who are unwell and at high risk of contracting the virus are recommended to keep using a mask tightly and keep their distance from others or avoid crowds.

Mass transport users are also advised to carry a hand sanitizer or wash their hands with soap and running water after coming into contact with objects that are used publicly. It is also suggested to use SATU SEHAT mobile app to monitor personal health.
