F-16 Fleet Secures Air Space Amid 42nd ASEAN Summit

TEMPO.CO Jakarta The Indonesian Air Force on Tuesday announced that it has three F-16 that will support the air security measures as Indonesia is currently hosting the 42nd ASEAN Summit held in the popular tourist island of Labuan Bajo in West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara.
Airforce spokesperson Indan Gilang Buldansyah said the fleet will actively secure the summit’s agenda in NTT.
“The Indonesian Air Force has prepared VVIP/VIP security operation in the airspace around Labuan Bajo, NTT during the ASEAN Summit," he said in a statement, Tuesday May 9.
This aligns with the orders from Armed Forces (TNI) Commander and the F-16s that are based at the 14th Squadron Iswahjudi, Magetan air base. There are effectively two main home bases for this fleet that will enable it to commence a rapid response.
