TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo disclosed a number of agreements reached during his meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong this afternoon in Singapore. One of them is 20 Letters of Intent (LoI) from the Singaporean private sector to invest in the new capital or IKN Nusantara project.

“I receive some of the results of this leader's retreat. The first is the huge interest from Singapore investors in the development of IKN Nusantara,” Jokowi said in a joint press statement with Lee, on Thursday, March 16.

Both countries also agreed to increase investment in the new renewable energy sector for the energy needs of the two countries. The third collaboration is in the digital field, especially in the field of data centers and information technology. “There are now Apple Academy and IBM Academy in Batam,” he added.

The fourth is cooperation in the trade sector, in which Indonesia started supplying chicken needs in Singapore. Then the fifth is cooperation in strengthening health services and investing in hospital development in Indonesia.

This series of collaborations is contained in 9 business-to-business (B2B) MoUs in the health and digital services sector, as well as 7 government-to-government (G2G) MoUs in the energy, health, and digital sectors.

Today's Jokowi and Lee meeting in Singapore is a continuation of the Leader's Retreat which was held in January last year in Bintan, Riau Islands. According to Jokowi, much progress has been made since the meeting.

“Singapore's investment in Indonesia has increased by more than 40 percent, and trade volume has increased by 25 percent,” he said.
