TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) said the Lake Toba rally venue will host the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) 2023 before planning to attract the World Rally Championship (WRC) to be held at the North Sumatra region.
IMI chairperson Bambang Soesatyo claims that the Toba rally venue has been entrusted to host the APRC 2023 following its success last year.
“The success of the Lake Toba APRC 2022 made the offer to host two rounds in 2023. This also smoothens Indonesia’s step to becoming a host for the 2024 or 2025 WRC rally stages,” said Soesatyo, Antaranews reported.
The 2022 APRC rally in this location was participated by 65 world rally racers which include eight local racers in Musa Rajekshah, Rifat Sungkar, Ricardo Gelael, Sean Gelael, Ryan Nirwan, Rachmat, Attuy Faturahman, and Putra Rizky.
