TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Employees affected by layoffs or termination of employment (PHK) in South Jakarta are ensured to receive insurance for terminated workers (JKP) from the Ministry of Manpower. Head of the South Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Sub-agency (Sudin Nakertransgi), Fidiyah Rokhim, said the JKP can be used to obtain new livelihoods.

"Those who acquire JKP can receive benefits, namely counselling, cash, and information on job vacancies," said Fidiyah in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 4, 2023, as quoted from Antara.

The requirement to obtain JKP, stated Fidiyah, is that during the administration stage, participants must send documents of proof of their layoff. The evidence includes, among other things, receipt of the worker termination of employment and receipt of the report on the termination of employment from the district/city level government affairs administration agency in the manpower sector.

Participants are requested to send the collective agreement that has been registered at the Industrial Relations Court and the deed of proof of registration of the collective agreement. Participants must also send excerpts or decisions from the Industrial Relations Court (PHI) that have permanent legal force.

All of the files should be sent through the Employment Service Application Information System (SIAPkerja) of the Ministry of Manpower's (Kemnaker).

The application will be verified by the Employees Social Security System (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan). JKP's application is accepted after fulfilling the requirements as a beneficiary of the insurance.

"After being accepted, participants can receive benefits in counselling regarding the need for information on job vacancies and job training," said Fidiyah.

Counselling lasted for one hour via video call and can be done day to day depending on the schedule of the counsellor and participants. After the counselling, participants received information from the SIAPkerja application, free of charge.

JKP participants are also provided with cash for six months to aid in searching for jobs. In the first 3 months, participants will receive JKP cash of 45 percent of the total salary which is limited to a maximum of Rp5 million. In the next three months, participants are given cash equal to 25 percent of the total salary.

With guarantees for employees affected by layoffs, Fidiyah hopes that JKP participants can fulfil their basic needs for a decent life and receive another job. "Participants can again receive JKP, on a condition that they have to work first for about five years," he said.
