TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Police's special counterterrorism squad, Densus 88 searched the home of Agus Sujatno a.k.a. Abu Muslim, the suicide bomber at Astana Anyar Police Station in Bandung this morning. Agus rented a boarding room in Blontan, a neighborhood in Siwal Village, Sukoharjo Regency, with his wife and child.

The search lasted for about an hour at noon today, December 7, during which the landlady and the neighborhood chief were present as witnesses.

Sukoharjo Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Wahyu Setyo Nugroho confirmed that the search was related to the bombing at Astana Anyar. He said that based on the information gathered, Agus Sujatno had not been home in the last month.

"The details will be informed by Densus 88," said Wahyu.

The landlady, Surati, said that Agus rented the room and had been living there since September 2021 with his wife Ruswati, and their child. To Surati's knowledge, Agus had been working out of town for the past two weeks.

Agus Sujatno set off a bomb this morning at the Astana Anyar Police Station, killing himself and a police officer, First Inspector Assistant Agus Sopyan. Agus forced himself into the vicinity pointing a machete at the guards before detonating the bomb shortly after.

The incident also injured 10 police officers and a civilian who was walking past the station when the bomb went off.

The police stated that Agus Sujatno was a terror convict who was sent to jail for his involvement in the pressure cooker bomb incident in Cicendo, Bandung in February 2017. He served time in Nusa Kambangan Prison before his release in 2021. Agus is said to be a member of Jamaah Ansharut Daulat, which has been declared an illegal organization by the government in 2018.
