TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday issued a summons for 5 witnesses in the case that involves the alleged bribery committed by Papua Governor Lukas Enembe. Two of the witnesses are the governor’s wife and son.

According to KPK spokesperson Ali Fikri, Yulce Wenda – Lukas’ wife – and his son Astract Bona Timoramo Enembe will be questioned as witnesses. “They are summoned as witnesses,” said the spokesperson.

The witnesses will be questioned at the KPK headquarters in South Jakarta. Other witnesses scheduled for questioning are Willicius, Yonater Karomba, and Frans Manibui from a company named PT Cenderawasih Mas.

In the corruption and bribery inquiry, Lukas Enembe had allegedly received gratification in relation to a project. The graft is believed to come from the Papua Province budget plan.

The anti-corruption watchdog has not officially declared the Papua Governor a suspect. So far, Lukas is believed to have received a Rp1 billion gratification. The governor has been summoned by the KPK but has yet to go through the inquiry due to health reasons.

The September 25 edition of Tempo Magazine wrote that one of the deposits had flowed into the accounts of a member of Lukas' family. For example, a cash deposit into the account of Lukas' son, amounted to Rp50 billion. Lukas allegedly used the funds to pay insurance premiums and kept them in the form of bank deposits. Lukas also paid an insurance premium of around Rp6 billion from a family member's account.
