TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno stated that 23 hotels in Jimbaran, Kuta, and Nusa Dua Bali are ready to welcome delegations of the G20 Summit which is slated to be held in November 2022.

“A total of 23 hotels spread across Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, and Kuta are 100 percent ready,” said Sandiaga in his Weekly Brief event at Jakarta Sapta Pesona Building on Monday, October 3, 2022.

He added that the ministry also helped manage hotels in the regions in a bid to achieve their occupancy rate at 80 to 100 percent.

“We hope that not only do the hotel occupancy rate increase and are fully booked, but also people willing to take a vacation in Bali during G20 can choose alternative lodging outside Nusa Dua areas, such as in Kuta, Ubud, Sanur, Denpasar, Lovina, Buleleng, and East Bali,” he said.

On international flights, Sandiaga confirmed that 25 airlines have opened international flights to the Island of Gods. The latest one, he mentioned, was Evergreen Airways (EVA) serving Taiwan-Denpasar round-trip flights three days a week.

“I’d like to thank these airlines and let's develop more and more flights so that the quality and sustainability of our tourism can be boosted,” he remarked.

Sandiaga Uno also confirmed that Indonesia’s passport validity had been extended from five years to 10 years. Other than as a preparation for the G20 Summit, the passport validity extension was expected to increase investment in the country.
