TEMPO.CO, South Tangerang - Floods inundated BSD Serpong toll after heavy rain poured over the South Tangerang (Tangsel) area since afternoon on Tuesday. The flood inundated the KM 8 of Serpong toll road, Pondok Aren.

BSD patrol police head Teguh Patriot denied that the toll road was flooded, saying that it was just a puddle. "It's not flooding, just puddles as the road can still be passed," he said Tuesday, October 4.

According to Teguh, the water level was 20-30 cm high at 17:11. However, the traffic congestion reached hundreds of meters. "It's congested for 200 to 300 meters," he added.

Tangsel police officer Rokhmatulloh said that the police attempted to disperse the traffic jam at the BSD toll. The authorities closed the traffic at the Rawa Buntu toll gate and before the Intermax.

"So we currently close the traffic heading to the toll to reduce the traffic density in the toll road. And for the vehicles already entered the toll will be diverted to the left (at KM 10) through Airport Toll to Bintaro," he explained.

Rokhmat said the flood at KM 8 was currently at a 90 cm level. "The traffic jam at KM 8 of Serpong Pondok Aren toll is caused by 90-cm-high inundation."
