TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that the three regional police chiefs (Kapolda) did not help Ferdy Sambo in fabricating scenarios of the murder of Brigadier J alias Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat based on the police’s internal affairs division (Propam) and special team's investigation.

"The Propam and the special team have examined [their involvement]. It has been concluded that the three Kapolda are not related to the FS case scenario," said Listyo at the National Police Headquarters on Friday, September 30, 2022.

The three high-ranking police officials, namely Jakarta Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran, East Java Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta, and North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General R.Z. Panca Putra Simanjuntak were accused of being involved in the attempt to back Ferdy’s scenario related to Yosua’s murder.

As reported by Tempo Magazine's September 5, 2022 edition, two police officers said that Ferdy contacted Fadil Imran an hour or two after Yosua’s death. Ferdy told Fadil that Yosua sexually assault his wife, Putri Candrawati, and then Yosua and his other aide Richard Eliezer were involved in a shootout that killed Yosua.

Three days later, Fadil held a press conference to clarify the shooting and the sexual harassment against Putri. At the conference on July 13, Fadil was seen hugging Ferdy who broke into tears.

In Brigadier J’s murder case, the police had named suspects, including Ferdy Sambo, Putri Candrawathi, Richard Eliezer, and Ricky Rizal. A number of police officials have also been named suspects in the obstruction of justice case, namely Hendra Kurniawan, Agus Nurpatria, Arif Rahman Arifin, Baiquni Wibowo, Chuck Putranto, and Irfan Widyanto.
