TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno on Wednesday said the recent meeting between G20 countries in Bali eventually produced a fundamental agreement to support the emergence of tourism that puts forth inclusivity and sustainability touted the Bali Guidelines.

This was established at the G20 Tourism Ministerial Meeting (TMM) forum and World Tourism Day (WTD) 2022. A number of State Ministers, according to Sandiaga, united their visions toward humans and nature conservation.

"The series of activities were successfully carried out and was attended by 150 delegates from 35 representatives of guest countries and international organizations at the Tourism Ministerial Meeting, We have reached a consensus agreement to support what we know as the Bali Guidelines," said Sandiaga Uno at The Weekly Briefing on Wednesday, September 28.

Sandiaga said the Bali Guidelines contain five main action plans. First, is the development of human resources (HR). This agreement will encourage the development of employment, skills, entrepreneurship, and education of actors in the tourism sector. Second, promote innovation and digitalization for tourism management.

Other aspects of the guideline are to encourage the role of women and youths in the tourism recovery program, along with focusing on climate action, biodiversity conservation, and circular economy.

“For the first time, we have successfully offered an idea to bridge tourism and the creative economy,” said the Minister about the Bali Guidelines.
