TEMPO.CO, Cikarang - In order to anticipate floods as the rainy season has arrived, the Bekasi Regency Government cleaned up 130 tons of waste from four points of the river bank in South Tambun and North Tambun, the Acting Head of the Bekasi Environment Agency Rahmat Atong has reported.
“We have transported around 130 tons of waste for three days in a row,” said Rahmat in Cikarang, Bekasi, Thursday, September 8, 2022.
The Bekasi Environment Agency transported waste with 12 garbage trucks and long-arm excavators. A total of 17 personnel from the Biawak Team were also deployed.
This waste cleaning-up program is part of the regency’s rapid response action to tackle waste in the river dubbed Tancap Gas.
The four points of the river banks started from the toll road crossing of the Jakarta-Cikampek KM 19 in Jatimulya Village of South Tambun, the Bekasi City border, up to the river downstream in Jejalenjaya Village, North Tambun.
“We clean up the waste on the riverbanks around Jambe River at KM 19 Crossing Toll, the slaughterhouse, Keramat Mundu, and the river downstream in Jejalenjaya Village,” he said.
