TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta Airport authority is set to impose an increase in air passenger service rates (PJP2U) or simply airport tax in early August of this year. This decision will align with the decision made by the Transportation Ministry.
"The plan is for the tariff adjustment to take effect on August 1, 2022," said Executive General Manager (EGM) of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Agus Haryadi in Tangerang, Tuesday, July 19, Antaranews reported.
According to him, this policy will be disseminated within 30 days before it is carried out and the tariff adjustment on the airport tax will not only apply at Soekarno-Hatta Airport but will also be applied at several other commercial airports.
"Actually, not only in Soekarno-Hatta, but at several other airports. This is actually a long-term proposed adjustment, but the Ministry of Transportation can only release it after the COVID-19 pandemic subsides. So, two years ago, together with Terminal 1, we proposed it," he said.
The airport tax will affect services in the airport’s Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 and will also see the Skytrain in operation again.
