TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said that the bed occupancy rate (BOR) at Covid-19 referral hospitals reached 14 percent in the past few days.

"Based on the data received, the BOR increased to 14 percent; 504 of 3,732 beds are occupied," Riza said at the City Hall, Friday, July 1.

The occupancy rate of the ICU at Covid-19 referral hospitals also increased to 11 percent. From a total of 621 available beds, 69 are occupied.

"This is due to the increased cases of COVID-19, which until today recorded 1,255 positive cases," he said as quoted by Antara on July 1.

Following the increased bed occupancy rate, the deputy governor said that his office had been prepared to improve infrastructures for Covid mitigation.

"We'll improve supporting facilities for COVID-19 mitigation, such as laboratories, hospitals, healthcare workers, everything," he added.

Riza viewed that the relaxed restrictions caused the cases to increase. He, therefore, asked the public to remain disciplined in implementing health protocol.

Based on the data received by Jakarta Health Department on Friday, there were 9,545 active cases with 1,100 new cases.

During the COVID-19 pandemic since March 2020, total recovery was recorded at 1,245,980 with a 98 percent recovery rate. Meanwhile, the death toll reached 15,316 with a 1.2 percent mortality rate.
