TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Joko Widodo or Jokowi was expected to hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Thursday, June 30.

As reported by Russian news agency Tass on Wednesday, the Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said the two leaders will discuss exports of Russian agricultural products, including wheat and fertilizers.

“The President (Putin) will continue dialogue on the topics they touched upon in April, and the entire spectrum Jakarta has put on the G20 agenda,” said Ushakov.

According to him, the two leaders will also discuss international situations, the war with Ukraine, food security issues, and the possible expansion of exports of Russian agricultural products, including wheat and fertilizers.

Ushakov added that it would be Widodo’s first working visit to Moscow. However, the Russian Presidential Office said they maintained regular contact. Widodo visited Russia in 2016, but at that time he was in the city of Sochi.

“The bilateral aspect is important, but it is no less important and perhaps even more important that Joko Widodo arrives here as head of state of the G20 President,” said Ushakov.

During his visit to Europe in recent days, Jokowi attended the G7 Summit on June 26-28. Before meeting with Putin, he had first visited Ukraine and met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv on Wednesday local time.
