TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned an official of Muna Regency, who has been named as a new suspect in the National Economic Recovery or PEN Funds bribery case. The suspect is a government office head in Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi.

"The suspect is already here at the KPK building," the anti-graft body's acting spokesman Ali Fikri, said on Thursday, June 23.

The KPK has named three people as suspects in the PEN funds bribery case: East Kolaka regent Andi Merya Nur, Regional Finance Administration director general Ardian Noervianto, and Muna Environment Agency head Laode Muhammad Syukur.

The KPK suspects Andi Merya of bribing Ardian and Syukur with Rp2.4 billion in exchange for a recommendation letter for allocating PEN funds to East Kolaka Regency.

The KPK said that its investigation has reached a point where they named a new suspect whose identity is not to be released yet.

The KPK has examined a number of officials in Muna Regency. One of them is Muna Regent La Ode Muhammad Rusman Emba, who was questioned on June 20.
