TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has decided to add the number of countries to the Visa on Arrival (VoA) list for entries via Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. Citizens of 42 countries can now get visas upon entry to Indonesia via Bali.

Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno said the government also decided to expand the no-quarantine policy throughout, replacing it with PCR tests upon entry. This was decided after taking into account the country's improving control over the pandemic, thanks to the public's obedience in implementing strict and disciplined health protocols.

He said that the VoA policy will be implemented effectively pending the issuance of a new circular.

"According to the directives from the President, we need to immediately expand the VoA and no-quarantine policies. We are coordinating it and hopefully, by March 22 the circular will be published," he said at the Weekly Press Briefing, Monday, March 21.

European countries included in the list are Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, France, Hungary, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Seychelles, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Countries in Asia and Oceania in the list are Australia, Brunei Darussalam, China, Cambodia, India, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, The Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkey, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.

The list also includes countries from the American continent; Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and the United States. There are also two African countries on the list: South Africa and Tunisia.

The VoA policy specifically applies to visitors coming for tourism purposes. It is valid for 30 days and can be extended once. To be eligible for visas upon entry, tourists must show proof of payment for accommodation for a minimum stay of four days, Covid-19 vaccine certificates, and swab test results.

In 2022, Indonesia is targeting to welcome 1.8 million to 3.6 million foreign tourists.
