Densus 88 Arrests Civil Servant Suspected as Terrorist in Tangerang

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police's Special Anti-Terror Detachment 88 (Densus 88) arrested a terrorist suspect who is identified as TO in Tangerang, Banten. TO is suspected to be a member of the Jamaah Islamiyah terror group.

“The suspect is a male,” said Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, Head of the National Police’s Public Information Bureau on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.

Ramadhan explained TO was apprehended in the early hours of Tuesday, March 15, at 04:52 Western Indonesian Time (WIB). He was arrested at his home in Samawa Village Housing Complex, Jatimulya, East Sepatan, Tangerang, Banten Province.

TO allegedly served as a civil servant or PNS. According to Ramadhan, there are 14 suspects or convicts of terrorism who used to be civil servants until date.
