TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of Covid-19 cases reported by the Jakarta health agency is showing signs of dropping within the past ten days. Previously, it logged spikes in cases on three occasions on February 6, 9, and 12.

The following is the daily Covid-19 cases recorded in the capital city for the past 10 days, as reported by Antaranews:

- February 5: 12,774 cases

- February 6: 15,825 cases

- February 7: 12,682 cases

- February 8: 10,817 cases

- February 9: 14,353 cases

- February 10: 11,090 cases

- February 11: 10,707 cases

- February 12: 12,417 cases

- February 13: 10,172 cases

- February 14: 10,275 cases

- February 15: 9,482 cases

The Health Ministry secretary-general of public health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said officials are yet able to pinpoint the cause of the drop in Jakarta’s Covid-19 cases and only confirmed that it has exceeded the Delta outbreak peak on July-August 2021, at 14,000 cases.

Throughout the spread of Omicron, according to Nadia, the highest daily additional Covid-19 case in Jakarta occurred on February 6, 2022, at 15,825 cases. It was followed by a reduced number of cases in the following days.

She asserted that the Ministry of Health continues to monitor the Covid development to ascertain what triggered the decline in Jakarta. "Whether it is actually because the cases are down or because of the small number of testing," she said.

The pattern of Covid-19 reporting in Jakarta remained fluctuated as she said no data had been reported on Saturday and Sunday. However, she said the monitoring of Covid-19 cases in Jakarta is based on reports in real-time.
