TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police Chief Insp. Gen. Fadil Imran called on the public not to panic due to the Covid-19 case surge. He said that people can do their normal activities despite the implementation of mobility restrictions.

Fadil said that the public must also see the government's effort in preparing the case surge by improving health facilities.

According to the Jakarta Police Chief, what is most important today is to get Covid-19 vaccines and abide by the health protocols.

"Let's live normally, go to the mall, culinary center, market; just do those activities, as long as we get vaccinated and always wear masks," he said during his activity in monitoring the Covid-19 vaccination at Flavour Bliss Alam Sutera, South Tangerang, Saturday, Feb. 12.

The vaccination at Flavour Bliss Alam Sutera is targetting senior citizens. "We also serve for those who want to get a booster. Alhamdulillah in South Tangerang, the first dose vaccination for the elderlies has reached 70.4 percent, and the second dose at around 59 percent. There are around 10,000 left who have to get the complete dose, and we are targetting the elderly," he added.

Fadil targets to vaccinate 10,000 elderlies within the next 10 days. Based on the data received from hospitals, this group is prone to the Covid-19 risks, so they need more maximum protection, he added.
