TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria stated that the full on-site learning, known as PTM 100 percent, will be resumed according to the joint ministerial decree.

Riza explained that the provincial government will not revoke PTM 100 percent considering Jakarta's PPKM status at level 2, vaccinations are above 80 percent, and 98 percent of educators have been inoculated.

"We have evaluated that, but the rule says that if it reaches level 3 restriction (PPKM Level 3), it (the on-site learning capacity) will be lowered to 50 percent," said Riza on Wednesday, January 26.

Currently, the active cases in Jakarta have exceeded 12,000 and in response to the surge, the deputy governor called on schools' task force to improve and tighten health protocols.

Meanwhile, the Association of Education and Teachers (P2G) urged PTM to stop as 90 schools have been closed temporarily. P2G Advocacy Chief, Zanatul Haeri believes there are more than 90 schools that could be closed, as several parents did not probably report Covid-19 cases in their neighborhood.

Previously, there were 39 schools that had been temporarily closed. But not until a month of the full on-site learning implementation, it rose to 90 schools.
