TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had allegedly arrested the regent of Langkat, Terbit Rencana Perangin Angin, with a reported wealth of Rp85 billion in 2020.

The Golkar Party member has 10 houses located in Langkat and Medan. He also has eight vehicles that can be classified as luxury cars. Other wealth amounts to Rp700 million in value and Rp1.1 billion in securities.

There is also Rp78.3 billion personal wealth that is not detailed. His wealth in 2020 was actually lower than in 2019 when he logged a total wealth of Rp96 billion.

In the latest KPK's sting operation, seven people have been taken to its headquarters in Jakarta to undergo further investigation.

Those who were nabbed were the officials and state apparatus within the Langkat Regency administration. However, the Regent was not in the group, according to Tempo's observation.

"The team will investigate it further," said KPK acting-spokesperson Ali Fikri on January 19.
