TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Transportation Ministry was set to issue a policy revoking the ban on the operation of Boeing 737 MAX. The aircraft would be allowed to fly again after going through the process of investigation and repair on its system.

“We have coordinated with aviation authorities and operators from around the world, especially ASEAN. Until now, several countries have allowed the 737 MAX aircraft to resume operation,” said the ministry’s director-general of air transportation Novie Riyanto in a written statement, Tuesday, December 28.

Novie said the ministry had carried out a technical evaluation of changes to the flight control design and evaluation of the pilot's workload for the aircraft at the Boeing Flight Services, Singapore.

“The activity was attended by representatives of the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Singapore, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Boeing, and was also attended virtually by the Directorate General of Air Transportation, FAA, and Boeing Seattle,” said Novie.

The Directorate General of Air Transportation also coordinated with flight operators to prepare for the re-operation of the Boeing 737 MAX, both the regulatory and technical matters.
