TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government planned to discuss the revision of the Job Creation Law next year. The commitment is set out in the 2022 national legislation program (Prolegnas) approved by the Legislative Body of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights on Monday.

Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Board Willy Aditya said the revised policy will take all the Constitutional Court’s ruling into account. The DPR, he added, is given two years to make the revision. “We will make sure that during the revision process, there are no derivative rules as ordered by the Constitutional Court,” said Willy on Tuesday, December 7.

The revision of Law No. 12 of 2011 on the formulation of law and regulations will also be discussed in parallel to accommodate the omnibus law. Previously, the Constitutional Court questioned the presence of the omnibus law which is not recognized in this country’s legislation.

On Monday, December 7, the Legislative Body tapped 40 bills to be included in the Prolegnas priority list for 2022.

The Constitutional Court ordered the government to revise the Job Creation Law. The panel of judges considered the regulation - which had only been in effect for a year - as problematic since the formulation process was not transparent and did not involve the public. The court also canceled all of the rules and asked for a revision to be made within the next two years.
