TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Health Agency reported 70 new positive cases of COVID-19 today, November 26. Based on the city’s release, the figures were obtained from the results of PCR tests on 15,137 people.

Antigen tests were also carried out on 44,638 people, resulting in 17 positive cases and 44,621 negatives.

The agency’s head of disease prevention and control, Dwi Oktavia, said the WHO set a target of 1,000 PCR tests per one million population per week, instead of specimens. This means the minimum test in Jakarta is 10,645 people per week.

Jakarta has surpassed the target some time ago. In the past week, 103,064 people were tested, meaning that the city’s total number of tests reached 688,204 per one million population

Today’s number of active cases in the capital city also increased by 15, bringing the total to 488 people who are still being treated or undergoing isolation.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Jakarta’s infection tally hit 863,757 cases with 849,693 recoveries or 98.4 percent, and 13,576 deaths or 1.6 percent. The national mortality rate stood at 3.4 percent.

Jakarta’s COVID-19 positivity rate in the last week was 0.5 percent, while in total was 11.8 percent. The WHO set the recommended standard at less than five percent.
