TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that Indonesia's tax revenues reached Rp953.6 trillion as of October 2021. This value is equivalent to 77.6 percent of the target in the State Budget and Revenue, which is Rp1,229.59 trillion.

"We experienced a growth of 15.3 percent. Last year we experienced a contraction," Sri Mulyani said in a press conference for APBN KITA on Thursday, November 25.

Sri said that the growth in tax revenue is a sign that economic activities are improving. "It reflects economic recovery; businesses are able to pay taxes again," she said.

Sri Mulyani said that the revenues from oil-and gas income tax grew by 55.7 percent, supported by the increasing prices of oil and gas. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas sector's tax revenue grew 8.9 percent. The revenue from VAT grew 20.4 percent, supported by domestic VAT and Imports VAT, with import activities increasing significantly.

Meanwhile, the revenue from land and building taxes (PBB) grew 1.2 percent, supported by the increase in PBB for plantations. Other taxes' incomes grew 91.5 percent, supported by the impact of the stamp duty rate adjustment.

"This illustrates that all sectors have started to rise back up. Although some [sectors] are still a bit left behind, they are showing signs of improvement," said Sri Mulyani.
