TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Jokowi Widodo will inaugurate Mandalika Circuit in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Friday, November 12.

“Tomorrow we will inaugurate the Mandalika Circuit. After that, there will be events held there, including Superbike and MotoGP,” the President told reporters after attending the NasDem Anniversary in Jakarta, Thursday, November 11.

On Friday, November 18, the international street circuit will be the inaugural venue for the 2021 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (IATC) motorcycle-racing event. A week later, the circuit is scheduled to host the final series of the World Superbike or WSBK Mandalika 2021.

Prior to the inaugural event, joint security forces from the Indonesian Military (TNI), National Police, and government agencies were ready for monitoring. They consisted of 2,058 NTB Police personnel, 300 TNI soldiers, 465 joint personnel from government agencies, and 408 more personnel from the National Police.

Other than the Mandalika Circuit area, the surrounding areas such as hotels, beaches, and other vital objects in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will be under the monitoring of security forces.
